Manfred Township is a township in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 111 at the 2000 census. Manfred Township was originally called Custer Township, in honor of George Armstrong Custer, and under the latter name was organized in 1879. The present name, adopted in 1884, is from the poem ''Manfred'' by Lord Byron. ==Geography== According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 33.4 square miles (86.6 km²), of which 33.1 square miles (85.8 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (0.90%) is water.
